Set in Lorain, Ohio, Toni Morrison's first novel is still targeted by book bans. It tells the story of Pecola Breedlove, a little Black girl in crushing circumstances who wants blue eyes. Several Ohio humanities nonprofits are launching a Year of Morrison this month.

Join Karen Long for a group conversation on The Bluest Eye at 6:00pm on Monday, March 2, at Forest Hill Church. The book is available from the public library and at a 10 percent discount from Mac’s Backs-Books on Coventry Road.
